This client wanted to highlight the contributions of Islamic learning and sciences to western medicine, specifically surgery. We decided the best way to do this was to start with an introduction to the state of surgery in the middle ages in Europe. Then we provided a secondary article that highlighted not just the medical achievements of the Islamic Caliphate but also their advances in math, science, and engineering. Finally, we ended by showing how these threads culminated in the advancement of surgical techniques during the American Civil War.
